Karen Marzlin has over 31 years of cardiovascular experience. She is licensed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and is a Certified Heart Failure Nurse (CHFN). She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Duquesne University in 2011.
Karen has experience in heart failure care from the perspective of bedside clinician, administrator, and provider. Karen developed a Special Care Heart Failure Clinic implementing a model of care successful in reducing hospital admissions and improving quality outcomes in patients with advanced heart failure. She also led an organizational interdisciplinary care group responsible for the successful and sustainable implementation of multiple heart failure care initiatives.
Karen is co-owner of two training and consulting business, Key Choice and Cardiovascular Nursing Education Associates. In the last 10 years Karen and her business partners have conducted over 1500 training programs nationally. Karen is known for her ability to operationalize knowledge and to raise the bar for excellence in clinical and professional practice.
