Overview:

This crisp and focused session will decode the myths surrounding Stark compensation restrictions and will point out opportunities for creativity. It will elucidate some of the "safe-harbored" compensation models, but will go further. It will also present the findings from a survey of leading physician groups and lessons they have learned in deploying cutting edge physician compensation models to produce quality and value.

Why Should You Attend: There are many myths about Stark compensation requirements within groups-whether independent or hospital affiliated. The new false claims liability for non-compliant claims makes this issue a real concern. Stark problems in a group are now potential whistleblower targets. In addition, the new value mandates ought to make practices focus their attention on how to make internal compensation consistent with new external incentives while remaining compliant. Not only for traditional medical practices but in the new hospital employment of physicians, these challenges are not well understood by those responsible for implementation.
